About Voss Atelier
A small workshop for good leather
We started at a cutting table with one hide, an awl, and a stubborn belief that a bag should be built to be mended and carried for decades, not thrown out in a season.
Our story
Voss Atelier began at a market stall in Yeonnam-dong in the spring of 2019. We had a single roll of vegetable-tanned hide, a folding table, and a handful of wallets we'd stitched at the kitchen counter. By the end of that first weekend the table was empty, and we realised other people wanted the same thing we did — leather made slowly, by hands that cared.
Everything we make is cut and sewn the same way today. We buy full-grain hides from a Tuscan tannery that still tans with tree bark, choose our panels from a single skin so the grain runs true, and saddle-stitch every seam by hand with waxed linen. Edges are skived, slicked, and burnished with beeswax. If a piece wouldn't still be worth carrying in twenty years, it doesn't leave the bench.
We believe in owning less and choosing well. One bag you carry every day and hand on in the end is worth more than a closet of things that fell apart. That is the quiet idea behind the whole workshop, and it's the invitation we extend to you: start one honest piece, and let it wear in with your life.

Bark-tanned leather, natural finishes, and plastic-free packaging. We'd rather sell one bag that lasts a lifetime and can be repaired than ten that end up in landfill.
